          Bucharest is splendid in spring. After the last winter snow of March, Bucharest weather becomes warm and pleasant. The green surface of Bucharest (approximately 3000 hectares of Bucharest parks, gardens and forests) comes alive and the blossoming trees and flowers make Bucharest look lovely.

 

          From mid May until October, Bucharest weather is characterized by warm days and cool evenings, except for the hot days of summer (July and August), with temperatures of 35-40ºC in the city centre. During summer, showers and thunderstorms are frequent and that explains why the average temperature for July and August is approximately 23°C.

 

          Autumn can be cold and rainy, with frequent milder periods of rain. Bucharest weather during autumn is characterized by temperatures varying between 18-22°C.

          Bucharest weather in winter can be very cold, with abundant snows, blizzards and temperatures below freezing point during the day, but rarely dropping below -10°C. The winters are sometimes windy, because of the Bucharest location on the Romanian Plain, but some of the winds are mitigated due to urbanization.   

          Bucharest has a continental moderate climate with hot dry summers, cold winters and an average annual temperature of 10-11ºC.
