Contele Dracula (Count Dracula) is a very original restaurant, located in an old building on the bench of Dambovita river. Because Dracula legend is very often associated with Romania, a restaurant that satisfies the curiosity of the foreign tourists could only be… crowded.

 

The interior design, evoking the writings of Bram Stocker, has a special place dedicated to Vlad Tepes, in the "Medieval Hall".  Sometimes (especially Tuesdays and Fridays) the count Dracula itself will come to your table. As for the food… many Romanian traditional dishes and some international ones that goes with the wines from the cellar of the house which is behind a secret door.

 

Because the restaurant has a capacity of only 40 people, with 30 more in the bar and because many foreign tourists are so desperate to see Contele Dracula, it is not advisable to go there without a reservation made with two or three days before. The restaurant is opened from 12.30 until late hours in the night and the prices are a little bit spicy, just like the place itself.
