National Art Museum

The National Art Museum is one of the most visited Bucharest museums. It hosts a collection of 100,000 works divided into two major sections: "National Gallery" (with the works of major Romanian artists like Brancusi, Grigorescu, Amman and Andrescu) and "World Gallery" (with many European masterpieces of Rembrandt, Rubens, El Greco, Renoir and Cezanne and Oriental art galleries). The imposing National Art Museum, the former Royal Palace, located in Revolution Square was damaged during the events of December 1989 and was closed for several years for repairing and now it is finally reopened.
