InfoBucharest.org Ethical Code and Anti Spam Rules

Let's make the Internet a better place for all

We at InfoBucharest.org don't like spam. We neither practice it nor tolerate it. We believe the Internet needs to be kept spam-free so that we can all benefit from its full potentialities. Spamming makes the Worldwide Web a less efficient information framework. We also believe that a basic ethical approach is necessary to everyone's Internet presence.

Therefore we have developed the following Anti Spam and Ethics Rules, which we propose to other webmasters as we commit ourselves to abide by them:

1. InfoBucharest.org shall only be submitted to relevant directories and categories. Any links exchanged will primarily serve the human visitors to the site. No text or links will be cloaked. No outgoing links will be hidden from the human visitor or invalidated by means of technical tricks.

2. No irrelevant keywords or keyword mispellings shall be stuffed into or next to our ordinary texts. People visiting us from a search engine should in fact be looking for the kind of information we provide. Misleading them to our site by introducing non relevant keywords would not be legitimate. We condemn this practice by other sites and engage not to use it ourselves. If keyword variations will sometimes be used in order to help searchers who accidentally mispelled our keywords in a search engine, such variations will only be produced after the keyword or keyphrase relevant to the page.

3. No indiscriminate sending of unsolicited electronic mail or newsletters will take place from InfoBucharest.org. Any newsletter device will include a voluntary subscription form and sending will be limited to those people who subscribed, while an unsubscribe option will be available and easy to use from the very newsletter.

4. Any advertising at InfoBucharest.org will be placed in such a way that it is clearly perceived as such by the visitors.

5. Any data collected from the public shall be kept secret and used solely for the purposes mentioned in the web site at the moment of collection of such data. Text and other elements submitted to the web site by the public shall be monitored to make sure that these rules and the web site's quality of content are preserved. Particularly, no adult oriented materials shall be accepted as the web site is open to anyone including minors.

We welcome any comments or suggestions on these rules. If you happen to see any text or element in InfoBucharest.org which in your opinion does not comply with these rules, please send us an urgent e-mail and we shall immediately review the specific item. Please bear in mind that this web site is made by many people, including members of the public. Therefore your help is essential to identify and eliminate any breach of our ethic code and anti spam rules.
